Tribute to the greats at new Strathclyde festival

-

This is not the greatest festival in the world – this is just a tribute!

The first Tributes in the Park will take place at Strathclyde Park in Motherwell on Saturday, September 1.

The festival will see a selection of the UK’s finest tribute acts – including The Absolute Jam, Little Mix Magic, Not the Rolling Stones and Stop the Clocks – take to the stage to perform the greatest hits of the world’s biggest artists.

In addition to the fantastic music, festival-goers can also take advantage of beer tents, local food vendors and a selection of stalls.

Festival organiser Lynne Hunter wanted to give music lovers the ‘ultimate fantasy festival line-up,’ that also offered amazing value for money.

Over the weekend, festival goers can enjoy the hits of music greats such as The Rolling Stones, Oasis, The Clash, Ariane Grande and Little Mix – for the purse-pleasing price of £20.

Lynne said: “I wanted to organise a music event that anyone could come along to and have and have a sing and a dance at.

“The tribute acts represent some of the biggest artists and bands of all time, everyone knows their songs, even if you’re not their biggest fan.

“I have kept the ticket price low to try and make the festival as accessible as possible for music lovers.”

As part of their corporate social responsibility, Tributes in the Park will donate £1 from the sale of every single ticket to the Beatson Cancer Charity.

The charity will also be on site to raise funds on both days of the festival.

Charlene Clay, Beatson Cancer Charity’s Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, says the Beatson is delighted to be involved with the festival.

She said: “Beatson Cancer Charity is absolutely delighted to be chosen as the nominated charity for Tributes in the Park.

“The line-up looks incredible, so we are very much looking forward to Tributes in the Park.

“Beatson Cancer Charity provides wellbeing services in Lanarkshire, so your support will directly be helping the local community.”

Tickets for Tributes in the Park, held on Saturday, September 1, are now on sale from Skiddle and are priced at £20.
