Coatbridge’s ‘Famous Five’
Family play generation game as little Aurora meets all her grans
Coatbridge is home to its very own version of the Famous Five as a remarkable family celebrated the arrival of their fifth- generation child.
Ysanne Fagan, 20, gave birth to beautiful baby Aurora Stewart on August 25.
Little Aurora was then introduced to her great, greatgran Jean, 85, and great- gran Isobel last week when Ysanne and her proud mum Moragh, who moved to Fife 11 years ago, brought the newborn back to their native Coatbridge to meet the family.
Ecstatic new mum Ysanne, told the Advertiser: “We’re all coping just fine so far.
“Aurora is such a content baby. She has her bottle and then she’s straight down to sleep – I hope it stays that way!
“It feels very special to bring a fifth-generation child into the family, especially the first one.
“My gran and great-gran were so excited to meet her and were delighted we brought her back to Coatbridge to introduce them.
“It’s a special moment and we’re excited to be able to read the article in the Advertiser as it’s something we can hold on to forever and show Aurora when she’s older.”
The first time some of Aurora’s loved ones got to meet the little bundle of joy was a “double celebration” for the family.
Aurora’s gran Moragh explained: “We came down last Tuesday as it was my mum’s birthday so there was cause for a double celebration!
“Aurora is the best present she could have asked for. It’s absolutely amazing. Ysanne is coping brilliantly and did fantastically during the birth.
“We couldn’t be prouder of her and are delighted she’s brought Aurora into the world.
“This is something we thought we’d never see in the family and my mum and gran are thrilled with it.”
Aurora’s great-gran Isobel said: “I’m a very happy woman.
“We knew Ysanne was going to give birth to a wee girl all along but to have Aurora in your arms is amazing.
“We’re so proud of Ysanne and couldn’t be happier there’s a fifth- generation child in the family.”
