Centre lifts carers’prize
Lanarkshire Carers’ Centre has scooped the Carer Positive award at “established” level.
This honour is presented to employers in Scotland who have a working environment where carers are valued and supported.
It recognises that Lanarkshire Carers’ Centre is “leading the way in supporting employees with a caring role”.
The venue’s team have also been re- awarded with the Volunteer Friendly and bronze Healthy Working Lives awards.
A spokesperson for Lanarkshire Carers’ Centre said: “We believe that our services are enhanced by the varied skills and experience that our employees bring, and that we give them an opportunity to build confidence, skills and contribution to our community through helping others.”
The centre says it is now working towards the National Work Life campaign, promoting a healthy work- life balance and building on a flexible working culture for individuals with families and caring responsibilities.
It will also strive to promote and provide advice in relation to positive physical and mental health and also moving forward with the See Me Scotland pledge.
