The Advertiser has once again teamed up with Fergusons Butchers of Airdrie for a sizzling sausage competitio­n to ensure Bonfire Night goes off with a bang.

Readers have the opportunit­y to snap up a selection of mouth-watering meaty treats from the award-winning Buchanan Street butchers in celebratio­n of national Sausage Week, which runs until Saturday.

Throughout the event, Fergusons will be offering customers a selection of speciality sausages from their extensive range, including beef bourguigno­n, chilli and chocolate, and piri piri, as well as gluten-free options – all of which form part of our amazing prize.

Fergusons owner Graeme Johnston told the Advertiser: “We are looking forward to showcasing our very best bangers made to traditiona­l family recipes and our winner will be in for a treat.”

The Airdrie butchers were also delighted to scoop a host of accolades, including runnerup in the innovative category for its breakfast slice sausage and highly commended for the chilli pork links; and runner-up for beef links in the traditiona­l category, as well as highly commended for its beef lorne sausage, at the prestigiou­s UK Sausage Week 2018 awards lunch held in London’s Plaisterer­s’ Hall on Monday.

On their most recent recognitio­n, Graeme enthused: “We are very pleased that our speciality sausages and lovely breakfast sausages have been recognised at this year’s awards. Everyone in our shop is delighted.”
