Brigade events The Girls’ Brigade meet in the church hall on Monday evenings; all girls welcome. The Boys’ Brigade meet in the same venue on Wednesday evenings, with Anchor Boys taking place followed by Junior section; primary school-aged boys are invited to attend.

Youth groups The One Way Club, for children in Primary Four to Seven, and Rock Solid group, for secondary school pupils, take place on Tuesday evenings in the church hall and are led by youth worker Jenny.

Townhead

Music club People can learn to play musical instruments including guitar and fiddle at St Bartholomew’s Church hall on Fridays from 8pm to 9.30pm. Lessons are followed by a folk music session until midnight, with a bar also available.

Cairnhill

Greengairs

Christmas pantomime is Cinderella and will take place at the social club on Saturday, December 15. Doors open at 5.30pm and the show begins at 6pm; free tickets are available from committee members. Parents are asked to fill in application forms on or before Sunday, December 2.

Councillors’ surgeries Councillor Tommy Morgan will hold his latest surgery this Saturday at 12 noon, with Councillor Sophia Coyle’s surgery taking place on Wednesday, November 28, from 6pm to 6.30pm. Both surgeries are held in the community hall. Brunch with Santa event is now fully booked. It takes place at the social club on Saturday, December 15, from 11am to 1pm and includes arts, crafts and storytelling. Raffles will be held, with organisers welcoming donated prizes. Da Capo music group The musicians meet on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm in the Orange hall on Baillies Lane. Back Brae Gospel Hall The breaking of the bread takes place on Sunday at 11am. Sunday school runs from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. Evening gospel meeting is at 6.30pm every Sunday, except the last of the month when the service runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Prayer and Bible reading is held on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9pm.
