Great drive along the Horizon

- STEVEN McKEOWN

Forza Horizon, as before, throws you into some truly breathtaking showcase races which could easily command a fee to watch in real life.

The big addition this year for Forza is the changing seasons, which adds a great dynamic to what was already a brilliant game.

I actually found myself taking time to take in the scenery and I only play on an Xbox One S.

I would love to have a look at it on the X because, even on the S, it looks staggering.

Throughout the game, you are encouraged to buy a house from anywhere on the map and that will help you “fast travel” from race to race on a racing area which I would say is nearly 40-50 per cent bigger than last year.

Races vary from dirt rally-type skirmishes to cross-country drives and even street racing, where you will have a great time careering round the sharp corners of Edinburgh’s streets and all manner of other city areas on the map.

The game is an interactive masterclass with the ability to accrue experience points, coins and influence by doing races and showcases, as well as more casino-like “wheelspins” where you win coins and cars that you might not buy yourself.

Forza Horizon 4 is one of those games you can dip in and out of all year and beyond just to be able to race around the beautiful scenery.

The promise of DLC featuring new locations, cars and gameplay already slated for this side of the new year, it won’t be out of my Xbox any time soon.
