-

The couple

Kelsey Ferguson, from Coatbridge, works as a legal secretary with a local solicitors and Anthony Burke, also of Coatbridge, is a mechanical engineer in Glasgow.

When they met

Kelsey and Anthony met as teenagers at St Ambrose High School and became best friends. After eight years, Anthony achieved the impossible and surpassed the“friend-zone”; and they were engaged a year-and-a-half later.

The wedding

The ceremony and reception took place at the Royal Apollonia Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus, on July 8 and was attended by 38 members of the couple’s family and friends. It was followed with dinner by the beach which was accompanied by a bouzouki player and guitarist who provided Cypriot music. The couple’s first dance was I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher and afterwards guests took part in Zorba dancing, culminating in a rendition of the Proclaimers’500 Miles.

Attire

Kelsey wore a beautiful Stella York gown, veil and tiara designed by La Novia in Edinburgh, while Anthony, his best man and ushers wore stone linen suits from Slaters Menswear, Glasgow.

Honeymoon

The newlyweds have a belated honeymoon to Disneyland in Florida planned for next year.

Bridal party

Kelsey’s maid of honour was best friend Nicole McKenny and her bridesmaids were friend Marta Kedziora, Anthony’s sister Emma and Kelsey’s cousin Hollie, while her flower girl was Anthony’s little cousin Grace Haggerty. Anthony’s best man was best friend Paul Michael Kerr and his ushers were Kelsey’s brother Lukas and Anthony’s friends Joe Kean and Martin Chisholm.

Flowers

Kelsey designed the bouquets and floral arrangements with the help of her mum Gina, mother-in-law Karen Burke, sister-in-law Emma and grandmother-inlaw Marie Burke with flowers from Country Baskets in Glasgow.

Thanks

Kelsey and Anthony would like to thank everyone who travelled to Cyprus to celebrate their special day. Kelsey said: “We would also wish to thank everyone who attended our second wedding reception at the Georgian Hotel, Coatbridge, on July 20 to keep the celebrations going; it was just as magical as the first. In particular, I would like to thank my maid of honour Nicole for being absolutely amazing, helping to organise and decorate and even picking up the best man’s forgotten belt on her way to the airport. We couldn’t be any luckier to have such amazing family and friends.”
