play football and helping anyone who needed him.

The couple had four boys, now aged 11, nine, seven and two, who all adored their father.

Fidaa said: “He always helped me as a husband. We discussed and worked things through together.

“He was a great father and the children loved him so much. He would pack us all in the car and take us out for the day, we would go to the park and he would barbecue. He loved that.”

Mohammed worked for security firm Osprey and was a conscientious employee.

His last shift was for 12 hours, a Saturday into Sunday, and he left home about 4pm after he and Fidaa shared some food together; as usual, before he left, Fidaa told him: “God be with you.”

At her request, Mohammed stopped off to check on the boys playing in a nearby park and he called Fidaa to say he had told them not to be late for dinner. It was the last time she would speak to him.

The next day, she got up expecting him to be home. She couldn’t reach him on his phone and instinctively knew something was wrong.

She said: “I thought maybe he had a car accident. Never did I think he had been murdered.” support me.”

Fidaa sat feet from Pearson and Hunter, listening to the awful details of Mohammed’s death. She heard how he had been found dying on the ground, praying to God as his life ebbed away.

Fidaa said: “I wanted to honour my husband by being there and I wanted to know the details but it was so hard.

“To hear that he had been so hurt and treated so badly. I try to forget those details but I can’t.”

Fidaa is grateful that justice has been served but added: “Emotionally, I don’t think anything can help me right now.”
