It’s time to do the Time Warp again as Airdrie hosts a special screening of a seventies classic.

Though not a double feature, film fans will have plenty to sing about when The Rocky Horror Picture Show comes to the Sir John Wilson town hall in November – with tickets available now.

And organisers of the event are encouraging the audience to come along wearing their finest make-up, leather and stocking and suspenders in tribute to the seminal 1975 musical.

Glam rock will be on the agenda and “singing along” is also strongly encouraged at the Stirling Street venue’s screening.

A spokesperson for Culture NL said: “Airdrie town hall is very excited to feature a special showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday, November 1.

“In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad ( Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) discover the eerie mansion of transvestite scientist Dr Frank-NFurter (Tim Curry).

“As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf ) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien).

“Join us dancing and rocking out, as Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation; a muscular man named Rocky.”

Featuring hit tunes including Dammit Janet, Over at the Frankenstein Place, Time Warp and Sweet Transvestite, the screening is sure to transport cinemagoers to the very heart of this magical movie.

The Culture NL spokesperson added: “Dressing up, dancing and singing along is highly encouraged on the night.

“We hope as many people turn out as possible; whether it be firm Rocky Horror fans or those who haven’t yet had the pleasure of seeing the film – or who maybe have never seen it on the big screen.”

The film is rated 15 and identification may be required on the night of the screening, which gets underway at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be booked now by calling 01698 403120 or visiting the website culturenl.co.uk
