DAYLIGHT ROBBERY
Thieves steal thousands in post office cash grab
Thousands of pounds in cash was stolen from a Coatbridge post office during a brazen daylight robbery.
Thieves struck on Sunday afternoon, swiping a “cash container” being delivered to the
Townhead facility by a courier at around 3.30pm.
Two men were seen running from the scene of the crime at the Leven Road post office towards nearby Wye Crescent.
Police are conducting doorto-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in an attempt to trace the callous crooks who made off with the five-figure sum.
Post office staff declined to comment on the raid when the Advertiser visited the premises on Monday.
