Have your say on future of local health and social care

Monklands residents are being invited to give their views on plans for the future of local health and social care services.
Draft strategy documents are now online at Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire’s website – and members of the public can submit their responses until 5pm next Friday, February 28.
The plans have been developed following an online survey completed by 1100 people, and a series of engagement events asking for feedback on service priorities and delivery for the next three years.
Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire (HSCNL) chief officer Ross McGuffie said: “We’re dedicated to ensuring we deliver services in Airdrie and Coatbridge that make a positive impact on people’s lives, and the best way to do that is by learning from their experiences.
“We listened to local people while drafting the plan and that has helped us fully understand how they want to use their health and social care services now and in the future; and I was really encouraged by the level of feedback we received.
“It’s important that people tell us what they think of the draft Strategic Commissioning Plan and how it will play a key role in helping us deliver the results they, and we, want – this work is being carried out for the benefit of everyone in North Lanarkshire so we really want to hear as many views as possible.”
Public feedback has helped HSCNL to focus its attention and resources on four main areas – person-centred approaches, prevention and early intervention, connecting communities and managing expectations.
The plan can be accessed at www. hscnorthlan. scot ; the responses submitted are confidential and unidentifiable, with the information being retained for six months only.
