Airdrie town hall will show two special events at its cinema next month, screening Riverdance’s 25th anniversary show plus the UK tour finale by singers Michael Ball and Alfie Boe.

Irish dance spectacular Riverdance is marking its silver anniversary this year, after making its debut as a seven-minute Eurovision interval performance – and has now been “completely re-imagined” with innovative lighting, projection, stage and costume designs and a re- recording of its stirring soundtrack. The 25th anniversary show, filmed live at the 3Arena in Dublin, will be screened at Sir John Wilson town hall on Sunday, March 8, at 2pm. Tickets cost £13.50.

Singing stars Michael Ball and Alfie Boe will then be sharing their serenades with visitors to the venue when the final show of their Back Together tour is shown at the same venue on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.

Described as “the world’s ultimate musical duo”, the pair starred in the staged concert of Les Miserables and have since teamed up for three albums.

Next month’s performance, recorded at the O2 Arena, will include musical theatre, pop and rock tracks – including songs from The Lion King, The Greatest Showman and Phantom of the Opera, plus a special Queen medley.

The Saturday showing of their concert is at 7.30pm with the Sunday event at 2pm, and tickets for both cost £15.

Booking for both events can be made at culturenl. co. uk or by calling 01698 403120.
