Staff from an Airdrie fast food restaurant have raised more than £7000 for a children’s charity.

The team f ro m McDonald’s collected a whopping £7200 for Ronald McDonald House through a variety of fundraisin­g events.

Employees raised £2500 when they took part in last year’s Kilt Walk, while Danielle Larke collected a further £1000 through facepainti­ng events.

In addition, staff donated clothing, footwear, toiletries, sleeping bags and bedding to homeless charity the Halliday Foundation.

The restaurant provides the charity with cups to enable them to give hot drinks to the homeless. It also donates tea bags, cutlery and condiments.

Business manag e r Corinne Leggatt said: “I’d like to thank everyone who got involved and gave up their time to raise money for two very important Glasgow charities.”

And Helen Cra i g , director at Ronald McDonald House, added: “We’re so grateful to Corinne and her fantastic team in Airdrie who have worked so hard raising money for the house.”
