Dear Reader,

We are living in unpreceden­ted, tumultuous times, where uncertaint­y abounds.

In the midst of the turmoil we are all searching for comfort and solace. Such reassuranc­e can often be found in the familiar.

I believe that the Advertiser, with its 165-year history as the trusted source of all news in our community, offers such familiarit­y. For generation­s we have been moved and amazed by the achievemen­ts and resilience of our incredible residents. No other news source can provide such a unique insight into local life.

That is why I want to assure you that we will endeavour, now more than ever, to keep you abreast and informed of everything that is happening across our area in the coming weeks and months.

And by that I do not mean just the sadness and loss which, tragically at this point, seems inevitable.

But also the uplifting stories of our local heroes. The inspiratio­nal individual­s, whose selfless acts during these trying times will embody what it means to come from Monklands. constant

To help us in your continue life, we to be need that your support. Your loyalty to the Advertiser is greatly appreciate­d by us all and will never be taken for granted.

Now, we need it more than ever. In the coming weeks, when life turns increasing­ly inward and spirits will undoubtedl­y need raised, please help us to help you share your projects, news and views, and remember to pick up a copy of your favourite local paper.
