A pilot programme of free online workshops to help small and mediumsized enterprises ( SMEs) and social initiatives in Monklands adapt to a post- Covid- 19 working environment has been rolled out.

Viridor’s community benefits teams are looking to use the sessions to support businesses in dealing with new ways of working.

They will help participants manage the challenges presented by the coronavirus epidemic and give them help which they can implement immediately.

The programme follows several successful pilots for Glasgow and upcoming sessions will include unlocking skills to ensure online meetings are as productive as possible and how to build a robust business model.

The current programme culminates on July 14 with a workshop from Bouce back ability’s Anita Douglas, a chartered occupational psychologist.

Viridor community benefits officer Karen MacCormack said: “We are pleased with the feedback and reaction to our workshops and hope to see many SMEs and social enterprises across Monklands signing up and benefitting.”

Sarah Bird, community benefits officer at the materials recycling facility in Bargeddie, added: “Now, more than ever, people and small businesses are looking for ways to up-skill during the space provided by the pandemic and we are offering an outlet in which to disseminate knowledge. Delivered by sector experts, whether you are looking to get energy saving savvy or understand more about the human impacts of the current situation, these workshops should provide answers.”
