Business funding deadline

Businesses in Airdrie and Coatbridge have a deadline of this Friday for submitting applications to four coronavirus support funds.

The available business support consists of a £10,000 small business support grant; £25,000 grants for the retail, hospitality and leisure industries; the newly self-employed hardship fund; and the bed and breakfast fund.

A total of £37.7 million has so far been awarded in 3489 grants, while 285 applicants have received £570,000 from the newly self-employed fund.

North Lanarkshire Council, which is administering the grant schemes for the Scottish Government, has announced that applications will close at 5pm next Friday.

Enterprise convener Councillor Allan Graham said:“Our non-domestic rates and enterprise teams set up and administered the multi-million pound business grant schemes to protect local businesses from the impact of coronavirus.

“As we move forward there is an enormous challenge ahead for local businesses to get the economy working again – but we will continue to do all we can to give our full support to ensure we respond effectively to the economic issues emerging from this pandemic.”
