Enchantment: by Janette Horn, Craigneuk

-

I wandered through a dreamy meadow

That led me to a rippling stream

Where silently I sat and pondered

As if entranced within a dream

Blossoms fair danced all around me

And I could taste their captive smell

And hopelessly I am lost in wonder

Trapped within a magic spell

And daring not to lose this moment

I hold so rare within my grasp

I close my eyes in awesome wonder

And to my chest a flower I clasp

Its petals are of wings of angels

Pure and gentle, soft and clean

Its stem majestic, tall and tender

With leaves that wear a coat of green

My heart pulsates in exultation

At beauty that no words can tell

And tiny birds above are singing

Entranced within the spell as well

A silent stillness wraps around me

And lifts and carries me away

My soul is free just for a moment

And I within the spell to stay
