Snapping true joy of Christmas
An Airdrie mum- of- two who has developed a photography passion project sprinkled some Christmas magic in a local park – with assistance from some Santa’s little helpers.
Marzena Stankiewicz took festiveflavoured pictures of her daughters Nikola, eight, and Olivia, four, in West End Park, wowing passers-by in the process.
She said: “There were people walking by saying how great the photos would look and congratulating the girls on bringing Christmas cheer to the park.
“A woman named Margaret Wallace suggested I send the photos in to the Advertiser and I am delighted to do so to get everyone in the festive spirit.”
Marzena added: “I’ve been really interested in photography for the past 10 years and since the girls were little, I have taken every opportunity to take some pictures.
“Olivia is still keen on being a model but sometimes they need a wee bribe to go in the pictures!
“I did some evening photography courses in Motherwell College to learn more about photography and the proper use of camera and lenses.
“My favourite season for photography is autumn and I have done a lot of photo shoots during the autumnal months.
“I just love the colours and ambient light that autumn offers, which pays off with beautiful photos.”
Marzena has captured several themes with her family-focused portfolio of Nikola and Olivia, who attend Victoria Primary School and Richard Stewart Nursery respectively, saying: “I did a silly photo shoot to remember the turbulent year that 2020 has been.
“We take coronavirus very seriously but had a bit of fun wrapping a tree with toilet paper and putting some face masks on.
“I’ve also done a photo shoot with pasta and hand soap and people in the park were laughing.
“It was done for fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it.”
