Monklands men and women who are seeking a Modern Apprenticeship and want to keep local families and businesses connected are being invited to attend a recruitment hub.

Openreach is looking for more than 30 Modern Apprentices to join the digital network business in Glasgow.

Successful candidates will join the digital network company’s service support team in the city, dealing with everything from real-time problem solving to working out the best ways to bring new technology to Scottish households and making sure frontline colleagues are in the right place at the right time.

The digital network business will hold recruitment hubs in Glasgow on April 14 and 15. Those who are successful will start work in May and June.

They will complete their apprenticeship over 18-to-24 months and earn £24,000 following accreditation.

There will also be an opportunity to earn a bonus which could boost earnings above £26,000.

Fraser Rowberry, Openreach Scotland’s service delivery director, said: “This is a great opportunity for school leavers or anyone else thinking about a Modern Apprenticeship to come and join our great team in Glasgow.

“We’re looking for people who are great at multi-tasking, love working with others and can spot issues before they happen – and opportunities to improve things.

“We want to hear from men and women from all walks of life and we’re extremely open-minded about experience.

“So, even if you’re a little uncertain, we’d love to hear from you and help you find out more.”
