Gardening contest looking for best in show among tenants
Could your garden be one of the best on show in Monklands?
If so, then why not enter it into this year’s North Lanarkshire In Bloom Garden Awards.
From crisp green lawns and beautiful blooms to colourful window boxes and shared garden areas, all entries are welcome.
The annual competition is open to council tenants from across North Lanarkshire, with awards presented for the Best Individual Garden and Best Shared/communal Garden.
Tracy Lennon, tenant participation manager, is looking forward to seeing the entries and said: “Every year the standards rise, and tenants showcase their colourful creations to compete for the title of best garden and best communal garden.
“People continue to spend a lot more time in their garden and are really imaginative with their use of space.
“Over the years we’ve seen lots of fantastic entries, with tenants working hard to maintain and create their green spaces.”
She added: “We are looking forward to another bumper crop of entries in this year’s competition and seeing North Lanarkshire in bloom.”
This year’s categories include the Best Individual Garden. This award is open to an individual address and the garden must be maintained by a member of the household.
One winner per category across each locality will be selected.
North Lanarkshire Council are also inviting applications for the best shared/communal garden.
This applies to people who live in a household that shares a garden space with others.
