Chanceto nominate coaching heroes
Nominations are being sought for sportscotland’s Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering (COV) Awards.
The event will be in-person for the first time 2019, and gives a chance to celebrate incredible coaches, officials and volunteers who are making a difference to sport in Scotland.
With nominees and winners ranging from young volunteers to high performance coaches, this awards ceremony recognises the outstanding work and dedication of coaches, officials and volunteers across Scotland.
Nominations are being sought for: Young Coach of the Year; Active Schools Deliverer of the Year; Community Club Coach of the Year; Performance Pathway Coach of the Year; High Performance Coach of the Year; Disability Coach of the Year; Official of the Year; Young Official of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year; Volunteer of the Year, Coach Developer of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
The closing date is Wednesday, July 13, nominations are open now, and winners will be announced at the COV Awards at the Glasgow City Chambers on Tuesday, October 4.
Stewart Harris, chief executive of sportscotland, said: “Each year the COV awards give sportscotland and the wider sporting system the opportunity to shine a light on, and recognise, the individuals who are integral in the running and delivery of sport in our communities.
“The incredible amount of time and energy that we see from all of the coaches, officials and volunteers is truly admirable.
“And we want to encourage as many nominees to be put forward for these awards as possible.”
