Support for LGBT community
LESBIAN, gay, bisexual and transgender members of the community are being offered dedicated support from police officers to combat violent relationships.
Hampshire Constab– ulary lesbian and gay liaison officers (LAGLOs) have been working with the North East Hampshire Domestic Abuse Forum and national charity Broken Rainbow to reach out to members of the LGBT community experiencing domestic violence. Statistics show that one in four same-sex relationships is abusive, and the scheme is aimed at supporting those who feel they are unable to ask for advice or support for fear of being ‘outed’ or because they rely on their partner.
Anyone with concerns can contact a LAGLO on 101 or email postmaster@ hampshire.pnn.police.uk.
