Nursery leavers enjoy a graduation ceremony

-

YOUNG achievers at Elvetham Heath Day Nursery in Fleet donned gowns and mortarboards for a graduation ceremony on July 17.

The nursery’s crop of 60 pre-schoolers, who will be starting school in September, were praised for their contribution to the nursery in a ceremony at the neighbouring Church on the Heath.

The four-year-olds received graduation teddies and certificates with messages from pre-school teacher Claire Young and her assistant Jaime Delargy, who also gave a short speech thanking the children.

Stacey Webster, junior deputy manager of Elvetham Heath Day Nursery, said: “Our graduation ceremony went brilliantly. The children loved it, especially the arrival of an ice-cream van at the end!”

“It has been a pleasure having the children here and we wish them luck in the future.”

Many graduates will return for the nursery’s summer fair on Saturday, August 23, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
