Launched to celebrate KSS’s 30th anniversar­y and to help raise vital funds, the challenge encourages participan­ts to create a 30-themed fundraiser during September. From giving up a favourite treat for 30 days to running 30 miles, taking on a 30-minute fitness challenge or reading 30 new books, the 30 for 30 Challenge is open to everyone. Lynne Harris, executive director of income generation at KSS, said: “Scarlett is an inspiratio­n and we are so grateful to her and to everyone who has signed up to take part in our 30 for 30 Challenge so far. “Over the past 30 years we have treated more than 30,000 patients with our world class, life-saving emergency care. It costs more than £14 million a year to sustain our service and, amazingly, 89% is donated and raised by the people of Kent, A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl is set to raise money for an air ambulance service that rescued her grandfathe­r following a serious incident. Scarlett Fuller, from Ash, has set herself the challenge of cycling 30 miles throughout the month of September by taking on the Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) 30 for 30 Challenge. Scarlett, who is the youngest participan­t to date to sign up for the challenge, is raising money for the service that helped her grandfathe­r, Paul Fuller, in July. He suffered serious injuries after being thrown from his horse while riding on the beach at West Wittering in Sussex. KSS’s specialist doctor was required to treat him at the scene before he could be transporte­d via helicopter to hospital in Chichester.
