- By MEGAN STANLEY megan.stanley@reachplc.com

A 90-YEAR-OLD’S much loved tricy- cle which was stolen is “thought to be in Aldershot”, according to his carer, Emma Hobbs.

David Parry, a former radio broadcaster, said he bought the tricycle second-hand for £280, eight years ago.

“You would be lucky to get £20 for it in the pub now, I should think,” he joked.

Although he has a car, the tricycle was much easier for him to get around.

He said: “I’m 90, I’m disabled and it’s my primary means of getting round the town.”

“I can’t live without needs to be replaced.”

The tricycle was stolen from Mr Parry’s house in central Farnham but after posting about it on Facebook, Miss Hobbs received messages that it has been seen in Aldershot.

Miss Hobbs said: “He’s very upset that someone would take this. He it really.

It adored his tricycle. He uses it to get himself around the town centre, for shopping, trips to the dentist and pharmacy”

Miss Hobbs said the tricycle is key for Mr Parry’s health.

She said: “I’ve been his independent carer for over a year so I like to get him exercising his legs to keep his mobility going.”

The last time Mr Parry saw the bike was on Saturday, October 24, around 2pm.

Miss Hobbs said: “David didn’t notice it was missing until Sunday morning.

“The last possible sightings of the tricycle were at 3am on Sunday in the Cranmore Lane area in Aldershot.”

Currently, over 1,700 people have shared Miss Hobbs’ original Facebook post looking for the stolen bike.

Miss Hobbs said: “The response has been absolutely astounding”

“Farnham has very many wonderful, caring people and I can’t believe all these offers to help and the amount of people who have shared the post to help get it back. Hopefully this may just lead to him being reunited with one of his loves.”

Mr Parry said: “I am not an internet person but I gather it has gone viral.

“The word has gone round and hopefully it might lead to a recovery.

“I’m a lucky old dog really, I’m lucky to be here and I’m lucky so many people are interested.”

The stolen bike is a silver and blue Mission Tricycle and anyone with any information is asked to email ems.hobbs@gmail.com
