A FOOTBALL club has confirmed the death of one of its “promising” young players during a serious crash near the Hampshire border.

Frimley Green FC took to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share the news that one of their U18 players was killed during the two-vehicle collision in Oxenden Road, Tongham – near Aldershot – which occurred just after 1am on Sunday.

The club also said several more of their players were involved in the incident and remain in hospital, some in intensive care.
