New signings will make case for Boro’s defence
FARNBOROUGH Football Club last week announced the signing of centre-back duo Kevin Lokko from Aldershot Town, and former Metropolitan Police captain Ollie Robinson.
Lokko, a two-time England C international, makes the short switch across Rushmoor after departing Aldershot Town. He boasts a wealth of experience playing in the National League with well over 100 appearances to his name with the likes of Welling United, Maidstone United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Dover Athletic and Harrogate Town.
Upon signing, Lokko said: “Really pleased to be on board. The club have had a great season in getting promotion. It’s a club on the up and I’m really excited to be a part of that journey and to hopefully replicate what we did last season this year.
“There’s no reason why we can’t do exactly what we did last year – try and go up again. We’ve got the facilities here. We’ve got the players and a good backroom staff to push this club forward, so let’s go for another promotion. Why not? I’m excited for the season coming and can’t wait to get going.”
Robinson is well-known from his time at Metropolitan Police, a club where he was captain and went on to make more than 200 appearances for. Robinson led Met to a fourthplace finish in last season’s Southern League Premier South, keeping an impressive 18 clean sheets during 2021/22. The 26-year-old makes the step up to The National League South for 2022/23 having also previously donned the colours of Surrey sides Molesey and Walton Casuals.
Robinson said: “I’m really looking forward to it next season. It’s taken a while to get me here but I’m finally here to do the business, so I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’m sure the club’s aiming to stay in the League and consolidate after going up, but I want to really push on and go for that promotion again like the guys have done. Really looking forward to it.”
