Estate agents reach six-figure milestone in hospice donations
BRIDGES Estate Agents has raised more than £100,000 for charity Phyllis Tuckwell over the last six years.
Carlo Stocchetti, the managing director at Bridges, and some of the firm’s charity champions recently visited the Farnham hospice to present a cheque to Phyllis Tuckwell’s corporate fundraiser Tom Enser and meet some doctors and nurses.
The money was raised through fundraising activities, including a celebrity football match and sponsored abseils and skydives, which Bridges staff took part in.
Mr Enser said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Bridges Estate Agents for raising this incredible amount to help support our care, and also to everyone who sponsored and supported them.
“As we usually only receive around 20% of our funding from the NHS/ government, we have to raise over £25,000 every day to pay for our care, and the support of our local community is so important in helping us to do this.”
The £100,000 raised includes Bridges’ sponsorship of Phyllis Tuckwell’s three cars, which its hospice care at home nursing team use to visit patients who have chosen to spend their last days, and to die, in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes or care home.
Mr Stocchetti said: “As we come out of the pandemic and hopefully wave goodbye to the difficulties all charities have faced to fundraise in the usual way, we are delighted that we have been able to continue to contribute to their efforts to raise essential funds for the daily running of Phyllis Tuckwell.
“This is an incredible amount for an independent business to raise, and with traditional family values at the heart of our business we are delighted to have been able to come together as a team to raise these essential funds.
“We look forward to setting our next target and continuing to work with this amazing local charity that is very close to our hearts.”
