Moving carriage

A crucial component of the Spinning Jenny was the carriage which ran horizontally across the frame and could be moved back and forth on wheels that ran on parallel rails. The carriage, in which the roving was clasped (enough for a single traverse), could reach the spindles on the far end and travel as far back as seven feet.
