CROWN OF MARGARET OF YORK 1468
Margaret of York, sister of King Edward IV of England, wore this crown for her wedding to Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy. Decorated with pearls, large roses of white enamel and smaller roses of red and black enamel, the crown also features Margaret’s initials as well as the letters C and M entwined with lover knots, in reference to her marriage to Charles. It is one of only two Medieval crowns to survive the period of the Commonwealth, as Margaret had presented the crown to Aachen
Cathedral in 1474.
