CROWN OF CHRISTIAN V 1671
All the kings of Denmark, from Christian V to Christian VIII, used the Christian V Crown. Created by Paul Kurtz it is considered to be the crown of the Absolute Monarchs. This royal headgear is made from gold with enamel and table-cut stones. It features garnets, sapphires and diamonds, with rounded braces that are joined at the top by an orb, a symbol of royal power and authority. On top of the orb there is also a cross, which is said to signify that only the church could stand above the monarchy.
