Wales actually has two other areas certified by the ida – the snowdonia national Park international dark sky reserve (silver status) and the elan valley international dark sky Park. However, the Brecon Beacons is the easiest to access. the twice-yearly astrocamp (astrocamp.awesomeastronomy.com) at cwmdu is the friendliest star party around, while crai in the west is darkest.
