Key features of an aromatherapy garden

-

Scented seat

Grow lawn chamomile (such as Chamaemelum nobile ‘Treneague’) or thyme (try ‘Silver Posy’ for its superior scent) into a stone or wooden planter.

Path edging

Grow sturdy aromatic evergreens (such as lavender and rosemary) as low hedging alongside paths, so that legs brushing past release the plants’ aromatherapy into the air.

Arches and arbours

Grow scented climbers over arches, doorways, and pergolas. Some very fragrant roses, such as ‘Kathleen Harrop’ and ‘Madame Alfred Carrière’, are almost thornless.
