Reply to well-wishers
I’VE been overwhelmed with the kind comments from readers wishing me well following my retirement as Editor of AG. Cards came from across the UK. With my nose glued to a computer screen in a small Dorset office, it was hard to appreciate the reach our work has. I am humbled by your generous comments.
I don’t feel old enough to retire (I’m actually not, quite, at 63) but running a busy weekly magazine requires a lot of energy and I’m no spring chicken. In fact my wife, Kath, tells me I’m a bit of an old broiler, and the aches and pains tell me she may be right.
I’ve been able to catch up with loads of jobs, and Kath and I continue to disagree over aspects of our garden – and if it continues I may be forced to take up my pen again to muster moral support.
