Care of citrus plants in winter

-

■ If you haven’t yet moved your citrus plants indoors, prepare them by placing them in a shady spot for a couple of weeks.

■ Trim off any rampant ‘water shoots’ that are spoiling the plant’s overall shape.

■ Switch their summer feed to a winter one – you can buy slowrelease drip feeders that you insert into the compost.

■ Don’t let their compost completely dry out – keep it slightly moist and increase watering when growth starts next spring.
