Classic view – Winner LEE Filters Prize – Winner

This was taken on a trip to the coast to meet up with fellow members of photography collective, Parhelion. When we walked onto the beach, the sunshine was harsh but, as evening approached, the light just kept improving. I wanted a simple foreground as a foil for the dramatic sky, so composed to exclude the beach and waited for an isolated wave. Canon EOS 5DS R, 24-70mm, 0.6 sec at f/11, ISO 100
