Phenomenal Surf by Sian Monument

Sian’s striking shot is of Penmon (Trwyn Du) Lighthouse in Anglesey North Wales. As you can see in the foreground it was taken at a time when bioluminescent plankton were out in force creating an ethereal blue glow when the waters are disturbed. This beautiful natural phenomena occurs in the right conditions, when the water is warm enough and tidal current conditions are favourable.
