Peggy

Nose: Some oriental spices with golden raisin and apple blossom. Herbaceous aromas and mildly grassy note. Hazelnuts and coconut.

Palate: Peppery undertones. Black liquorice is ever so slight before you deep dive into the tannins. Intriguing mint and sage. Cigar and saddle leather.

Finish: Long lasting and leather toned with chocolate and toffee singing along.

Comments: Behaves itself for 100 proof in just the right way.

Nose: Rye grass partners with floral notes. The woods after a spring rain with wildflowers underfoot. Subtle for 100 proof.

Palate: Sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice. Then the flowers blossom.

This is all balanced with vanilla and rye spice.

Finish: Very long, though the flowers fade and spice is persistent.

Comments: Unexpectedly, water brings out more rye rather than the fruit. But this doesn’t do enough to upset the balance. 8.9
