A wild ride of bold spices...

Peggy

Nose: Light and airy nose of honey that whiffs a few fruit notes of peach and apricot. Some candy corn and golden apple notes layered with sugar cookie.

Palate: Brown sugar and cayenne pepper that spikes to a very warm hello. Stay tuned as the oak notes then overpower and lead the caramelized wood sugar.

Finish: Rich on the tongue with the warmth and has staying power.

Comments: For a high-proof whiskey the nose fools the palate.

Susan

Nose: Rich vanilla with cherries, pears and pistachios. A fruit orchard rather than a spice rack.

Palate: Intense vanilla custard with cherry compote and baking spice. Remarkably smooth for its proof. Nary a hint of oak.

Finish: The flavors dissipate rather quickly, but leaving a pleasant warmth behind.

Comments: Succeeds in being warm without being hot. A little water brings out nuttiness that complements the fruit.
