Welcome to the latest issue of Android Advisor. After many months of speculation, Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy S8 and S8+. Very little was left to the imagination, and even Bixby was announced ahead of the launch. But how do the phones themselves fare, and can Samsung hang on to its best Android phone crown for another year running? We go hands-on with the new Galaxy flagships overleaf.

Something of interest to all Android users will be the release of the Android O Developer Preview, which for the second time has been announced ahead of summer’s Google I/O.

As consumers this early release isn’t intended for you (though we do explain how to install it on a compatible device on page 101 if you’re determined), but it gives an exciting first look at what may be in store. You can read more about Android O on page 79.

In other news, new laws have been introduced in the UK regarding the use of a mobile phone while driving. On page 103 we outline ways you can safely use your handset while keeping out of trouble.
