Silver medal was a great achievement

Fishing Adventurer , Travel Channel, Weds, July 6, 9pm I’D like to congratulate the England Feeder Team on winning yet another medal for our country at the recent World Feeder Championships.
It seems there is almost an air of disappointment that we didn’t make it three golds on the trot, but a silver is still a tremendous achievement and it just goes to show the very high standards that the nation has set itself.
A friend and I were discussing why we have become so successful on the international THE North Bank of the Nene is a very famous stretch of river in Cambridgeshire, and I used to travel there regularly for a Sunday match with my Sheffield club Cross Keys AC.
Access was good, with a road running alongside allowing easy parking and a few lay-bys where the bus could park to allow us to unload our gear and walk to our pegs along the river.
I’ll never forget one particular rainy day there. I had drawn just round the only bend on the stretch at the bottom of the Bedford Gravels, and was catching a few roach on the float.
It was probably a couple of hours into the match when I Hooked on Fishing, Discovery Shed, Sunday, July 10, 6am

Biggest Mandarin cat in the UK, www.youtube.com heard a screech of brakes behind me. I turned to see a car hurtling towards me, completely out of control. Only one thing for it.
I threw myself into the water, a split second before the car ploughed through my kit and launched itself into the river.
Thankfully the driver and I escaped without injury, although we were both very wet, and my fishing gear had certainly seen better days! Three groundbait bowls in a heavy duty waterproof material. The largest has a zipped top and the two smaller ones fit neatly inside. JULY 5, 2016 61
