More Carp Cup qualifiers

THIS 33lb 9oz mirror helped Spomb inventor Bryan Houghton and partner John Picking qualify for the final of the Southern Carp Cup.

They won the Sandhurst qualifier with 47lb 12oz, ahead of Terry and Stuart Boardman on 43lb 1oz – both two-fish catches. Cliff Baker and Peter Hale were third-placed qualifiers with a 24lb 1oz fish. The final will be held at Thorney Weir next month.

In the Northern Carp Cup qualifier at Newbridge, Dan Robson and Shane Fletcher’s brace of carp for 39lb 6oz beat Ben Escrit and Christopher Deaton’s 15lb 6oz and Mark Hardcastle and Chris Ehlert’s 13lb 15oz (both single fish).

All three pairs go on to next month’s final at Wyreside.
