We can all do our bit to halt the spread of deadly KHV virus

-

A NUMBER of our fisheries have been struck down by the deadly KHV virus in recent weeks, so I would like to appeal to anglers to do their bit to stop the spread of it.

KHV can wipe out a whole complex that has been built up over the years, but you can help prevent this from happening by simply laying your nets out on the bank before fishing.

Natural light will kill off any bugs on them, drastically reducing the chances of them being transferred between fisheries.

I have worked tirelessly to create a fishery that has become extremely popular, investing thousands of pounds in fish stocks to make sure that weights remain high all year round.

Just one angler failing to lay their nets on the bank for half an hour before fishing could undo all that and lead to a major fish-kill.

Please spread the word about the importance of doing this, so that KHV doesn’t hit any more fisheries this year. Dave Byrd, Manor Farm Leisure co-owner
