Fish O’ winner Andy has the right attitude
I AM a passionate match angler, but I think this area of the sport lacks charisma and character.
I have watched the Fish O’Mania final for several years and, while the skill and class of the competitors can never be doubted, most of the previous winners presented in quite a dull manner.
But that changed this year when Andy May took the trophy. It would be very easy of him to be dismissive of Keith Arthur and his team when he was wired up to a microphone and interviewed mid-match, but Andy got involved in the banter, was very witty and even put a smile on my wife’s face – and she has no interest in fishing! Angling needs more people with that kind of jovial attitude.
Well done on an amazing win Andy, it was a well-deserved victory.
