STEADY RATHER THAN SPECTACULAR WEEK

No double tons, but some close-fought matches nationwide

-

PLENTY of ton-plus winning weights this week, but nothing to really set the world on fire!

The double ton was threatened by a couple of clubs. The prolific Chapel Pool saw the Alliance & Leicester club enjoy another good match, Colin Cliffe bagging 194-10-0 of carp on meat with Steve Cain finishing second on 171-13-0 and Steve Bradshaw third on 152-12-0.

The news was much the same in the South West, where Goodiford Mill saw Zac Newton crash out 195-0-0 of carp on pellet to top the Exeter DAA match. Second was Graham Davie on 145-10-0 and third Jamie Lee on 115-0-0.

At South Yorkshire’s Woodhouse Grange Fishery small F1s showed well for Frecheville Community. Gig Parkes took 139-11-0 of them on maggot to finish 10oz clear of Fred Driver.

One fish decided the Brunswick Bros AS match at Blind Lane Fishery, where Paul Cannon weighed in 148-8-0, just 7lb ahead of Matt Cole.
