IT WAS tight at the top in this latest qualifier, with winner Steve Davies and second-placed Myles Levy ending the day separated by just 4lb. Steve book his place in the final thanks to 195-8-0 of carp and F1s.

The West Malling Angling man drew peg 22 on Lake 1 and fished corn at 13m to get ahead of Myles on peg 66 of Lake 2, where pellet in the margins gave him 191-14-0 of carp, F1s and barbel.
