BOLDINGS POOLS, BRIDGNORTH, SHROPSHIRE

Caster and pellet fished shallow on the long pole is catching more than 100lb of carp to 7lb on the Oak Pool. Use a banded 4mm pellet on the hook and loosefeed with a catapult little and often for the best results. Double caster is also catching the bigger fish in the margins. GRENDON LAKES, GRENDON, NORTHANTS

Lucy Lake holds some quality tench and bream which can be caught on the pole or feeder using worm, corn or pellets. Use the line clip on your reel to ensure your bait is spread around a concentrated area and keep casting every five minutes to keep that dinner bell sounding.

HACKETT’S LAKES, HOLME PIERREPONT, NOTTS

The Match Lake has seen tench to 6lb caught recently from the deeper water. Fishing worm over groundbait tends to find these fish really well, along with the odd big perch, chub and roach. Switch to double maggot if bites are slow in coming. Contact: 07798 702053 Postcode: NG12 2LD

HOLLY FARM FISHERY, ASHBY MAGNA, LEICS

The feeder and pole are both catching on Moby Lake. Start by casting to the island with a feeder and corn on the hook, and then try the long pole with pellet later on. All the while keep a margin line well fed with corn and drop in here later on for the chance of a 10lb-plus carp. Contact: 01455 202391
