Milton Pools
Milton Pools welcomes anglers to the perfect venue
ESTABLISHED just over 70 years ago, Milton Pools is one of those little known jewels for fishing in Oxfordshire whether a novice or experienced angler.
Set in a delightful location next to the M40 motorway near Oxford, there are six waters which offer everything from tranquil pleasure fishing to specimen hunting.
As well as round-the-clock angling, the fishery also offers a fully-equipped tackle shop with a wide selection of bait & tackle, toilets with washing facilities and a floodlit car park with Closed Circuit Television. There is also a café which is open from 8am – 9.45am on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Night fishing is allowed, although anglers are advised to telephone in advance, especially if they want to fish the Specimen Lake. This lake also offers Swedish-style cabins on most of its pegs (these cabins have no services - they are an alternative to sleeping in a bivvy).
All anglers and visitors on arrival are asked to report to either the shop, or use the intercom, which can be found on the right hand side of the shop door, before proceeding onto the fishery.
Most of the pegs are suitable for disabled anglers, with car access to many of the swims, whilst plenty of space is assured for pleasure anglers as all summer matches are now held on Campbell’s Match Lake to ensure other waters are always available for pleasure and specimen anglers.
Fishing tuition can be arranged by appointment with Ian Horrocks, for those looking to take up angling, or brush up on their technique (please enquire for further details).
