Heskin Old Hall Fishery
Tree-lined pools offer a more traditional style of fishing
FOR a spot of natural fishing in a tranquil environment, you can’t go far wrong with a trip to Heskin Old Hall Farm. The Lancashire venue has three mature ponds, some of which have been a haven for fish for over 30 years. These tree-lined pools are not your typical carp-filled commercials as they offer a more traditional style of fishing for mixed nets.
Carp, tench, roach, perch, bream and rudd are just some of the species you can catch here. Pool 1 is the oldest and contains plenty of carp well into double figures.
Pool 2 is more traditional and anglers here can expect to catch plenty of tench on either the float or the feeder.
There are plenty of features on this pool, including an aerator and an island to cast to, but anglers often fare well fishing close in for the tincas.
Pool 3, meanwhile, also holds a mix of stock and anglers can simply fish a float with baits such as maggots and casters to catch a mixed net of silverfish and odd carp.
