KORDA’S new TV show Monster Carp has been hailed a huge success among the nation’s anglers.

Tonight the final episode of the four-show series will be screened on ITV 4 and its creators have already said that the reaction to Monster Carp has been ‘beyond their wildest dreams’. On that basis, filming for the second series has already begun.

In recent weeks series producer and presenter Ali Hamidi has been joined on screen by Korda boss Danny Fairbrass as well as top anglers Darrell Peck, Tom Dove and Neil Spooner. The team’s worldwide adventures have already seen them visit awe-inspiring venues in Japan, Hungary and Italy to do battle with huge specimens.

It’s these captures, coupled with the friendship and camaraderie between the passionate anglers, that will no doubt see tonight’s episode in the incredible lakes of the Austrian Alps continue to produce five-star reviews.

“The response from the fishing industry has been beyond our wildest dreams,” Ali told Angling Times.

“We are so proud and happy that people are loving the series as much as they are, and we’ve learnt so much during the process of making it.

“Filming for series two has already begun, and the aim is to evolve and develop so that it goes from strength to strength.

“The support we’re receiving is proving to ITV just how powerful coarse fishing is and how it deserves to be on mainstream TV.”

Football star and keen carp angler Bobby Zamora is a huge fan of Monster Carp, and he added: “It’s great to see a carp show on prime-time TV.

“The show provides great all-round entertainment, the venues they visit are different to what you might expect, and it’s always a giggle watching the boys have a laugh on the bank, just like we all do.”
